The much anticipated concert event was last night and was better than we could ever have expected!

We were really excited that My Chemical Romance was not only coming back to Denver, but coming to a smaller, more intimate venue - the Fillmore Auditorium. There is no bad place to be in there and no place where you cannot see. You really feel like you are close to the stage no matter where you are.

This concert was sort of a “back to basics”. After all the arena tours of the last two years, they brought it back to a smaller setting which is what made the whole thing amazing. This was our fourth time to see them in the past two years. And it was by far the best show yet.My Chemical Romance in Denver

Denver seemed extra energized - they even said so. And after a few times of needing oxygen ( :) ), it didn’t seem to phase Gerard in the least once he got going. I even had trouble singing along and I’m used to the altitude!

The concert was a great mix of old and new. They played every song from The Black Parade except The End and Disenchanted. They mixed those in with old songs from Revenge and even Headfirst for Halos from Bullets. Plus two B side songs and Desert Song. The evening ended with Helena, which is fitting when you listen to the words - “so long and goodnight”. He had talked about how they were going on a long break after this tour.

The crowd was absolutely on fire all night and the guys really fed off of the energy. Gerard mentioned that Denver was a special place since it was where he got married.

I would also like to say that the opening acts, Drive By and Billy Talent were excellent and the crowd involvement was great. Check them out if you ever get a chance.

Overall it was a fantastic night. Little sad we won’t see them again for quite awhile, but glad they made Denver one of their stops!

Cool review. I was at that show and reviewed it for Trashwire.com. They were amazing!
