I’m going to make this brief and post some pictures later.

The Offspring was incredible.  I don’t sit there and make notes during a concert of any set list.  All I’ll say is that they played pretty much every song you would want to hear.  Off the new album they only played Hammerhead and You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid.  That is no surprise though as I had heard an interview that until people became more familiar with the new album they wouldn’t play a lot off of it.

If this wasn’t a sold out show, it was awfully close.  The crowd was amazing, singing along, jumping, having a great time.  We had a blast and it seemed to go by way too fast.  I wish they had gotten on stage earlier and played longer.

As far as the rest of the day and the other bands that played….. I feel the order was wrong in that the Dropkick Murphy’s should have been right before The Offspring.  They were a blast, had the crowd going.  To have Paramore in between the two was odd.  I’m not a huge fan of Paramore.  I hear some songs on the radio and that’s it.  Maybe it was an off night, but we didn’t think they were very good live.  She hands way to much over to the audience to sing, which I find really annoying.  Especially when they aren’t even songs most people would be familiar with.

Not impressed with Dropping Daylight either.  I didn’t like the whole keyboardist as the lead singer thing.  Now who we did really like and who I didn’t think I would was Spill Canvas.  While I only recognized the one song that is play on the radio, I enjoyed all the rest.

As far as the two locals on the main stage - everyone seems to love the Flobots.  I understand their message, like what they have to say, but it gets old for me.  The best out of the bunch is the violinist.  They definitely know how to get a crowd going.

SkyFox, the other local band who played the main stage due to winning the 93.3 contest, was great.  We really, really liked them.  We would go check them out if they played a small venue around Denver.

Overall it was a great day day, although very, very long.

We can’t wait for The Offspring to come back doing their regular tour and play some of the new songs along with all the old.  They are so amazing live and we had a great time.
